The leading natural attraction of Cyprus is the Zoo in Paphos. It is famous for its impressive number and variety of inhabitants, remarkable infrastructure and excellent territorial organization. It was founded in 2003. Businessman Christos Christophoros needed a home for his private bird collection, which was soon joined by animals from all over the world. The collection was made open to guests.

You can walk around the zoo for hours. All objects here are built in such a way as to make a walk through the park as comfortable and fascinating as possible. Together with the aviaries for animals there is a cafe, restaurant, art gallery, gift store and playground. An interesting experience is guaranteed for both adults and children, and mini-excursions tell many curiosities.

In addition to the zoo, guests have the opportunity to visit the art gallery and the Museum of Natural History. The gallery features delightful photographs and paintings of birds. You can admire the exclusive works of the artist Eric Pick. The museum houses curious finds from archaeological excavations.

Having enjoyed your walks, visit the Flamingo restaurant and taste the traditional Cypriot cuisine. The experienced chef will delight you with grilled lamb and bread baked in a clay oven. You may find vegetarian dishes in the menu. Children will enjoy delicious desserts.

In the zoo there is an interesting cactus park, imitating the landscapes of Africa and South America. Exhibition Museum “Cyprus House” tells about the life of Cypriots in the nineteenth century. At the mini-farm kids can play and feed tame animals – guinea pigs, rabbits, goats and chickens, ride a pony and take pictures with reptiles and parrots.

There is a daily parrot and owl show at the zoo. The show takes place in a covered amphitheater on stone steps. The show is unforgettable, and especially the kids love it because the parrots dance, talk, ride bicycles, scooters and even play basketball.

The zoo is designed in such a way that every corner has a piece of the landscape of some distant country. Rare ornamental trees, exotic flowering plants and shrubs, mini-ponds, fountains and waterfalls. Almost ideal conditions have been created here for the life of its inhabitants and the excellent recreation of visitors.
